Our Story

Originally from East Africa (Congo, Uganda, Tanzania), the Black Beanz and their families moved to America separately within the last 10 years. By chance, every member ended up in Akron, Ohio. Through friendships and shared interests in sports and dance, the Black Beanz dance crew was formed in 2001. Starting from dancing for fun to making a local impact and competing on the world stage at World of Dance 2023, our journey has just begun, and we hope you will follow along!
